How a belt comes to life

Most of our belts start right here in the shop, hand-cut from a full hide laid out on the bench. Every hide is unique — just like the folks who wear them. Sometimes, for specialty colors or textures, I’ll use a pre-cut belt blank from a trusted supplier. But no matter the starting point, the next steps are all done by hand.

Once the belt is cut to size, I punch the holes for the buckle tongue, tip, and Chicago screws. Then the real fun begins — your custom design gets tooled into the leather with care and attention. I cut a stitching groove, then move on to dyeing, painting, and antiquing — bringing the design to life with color and depth.

If your belt has a liner, I glue and stitch it in next. After stitching, the edges are burnished until they’re smooth and glossy. That polished edge doesn’t just look sharp — it helps the belt slide easily through your loops without catching.

Santa? Is that you?

When Santa comes to Texas, he fits right in with this belt. It’s wide, it’s firm and it’s so bold. There is no mistaking when he walks into the room. Brass Chicago screws allow the long tabs on the right and left side of the belt to be removed and interchanged for a narrower belt buckle to fit. Plus, that brass really catches the eye!

Considered to be more traditional by some peoples expectations, but definitely still a stand out. This hand-cut belt, has been tooled by hand, with dye and antique crafted in the shop too. Can’t get more custom that a hand-crafted belt.

After tooling and dye, we glue the liner, stitch and polish the edges. It’s not only a work of art, but a useful item in your every day life.

Statement red belt?

We’ve got you. This belt started out as a bold red strap. We tooled the spearheads along the top and bottom edges. Antiqued with a black to provide maximum statement power. We glued the liner and stitched. Polished edges and it was ready for them to pickup. Wow. You won’t miss this belt!

Leather Suspenders?

I’ve made several pairs, but these were made with work in mind. Who says you can’t look like you mean business on the job site? Yeah, not this guy! We wanted some more robust that what we normally used. A wide, 2 inch wide strap of tooled leather, and clips to grab his belt loops. He means business!

Fancy, right? The portion below the Y is a heavy elastic. He has enough give for him to work all day and not get caught short.
